SeaWorld Abu Dhabi – The World’s Largest Aquarium

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is a future-generation marine-life theme park, which is developed in partnership between Miral and SeaWorld. Miral is Abu Dhabi’s leading developer of immersive destinations and experiences, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Clymb ABU DHABI and many more. The theme park plans to welcome visitors in 2023.

SeaWorld Entertainment is a leading park and entertainment company which was founded in 1959, and is headquartered in Orlando, Florida and operates theme and water parks in the USA. Among them are SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego, SeaWorld San Antonio, Aquatica Orlando, Adventure Island and Water Country USA.

Built across five levels of an area of about 1,970,000 sq. ft, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will become an example of the next generation of theme parks dedicated to marine life. The latest technology will encourage human engagement to provide visitors with maximum impact and emotions.

In July 2022, Emerge, which is a joint venture between the UAE’s Masdar and France’s EDF, signed an agreement with Miral to deploy on-site energy systems at the park. The project will have a capacity of 8.2 megawatts and the rooftop solar photovoltaic systems will be installed at the development, including the main building. Emerge is responsible for full turnkey solutions, including construction, design, as well as operations and maintenance services. As Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, has noticed, it has become an important step in the sustainability strategy of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and will “strengthen Yas Island’s position as a global destination within the Emirates’ tourism ecosystem.

Note: Yas Island is a desirable destination among tourists and expats due to a number of entertainment activities, dining options, parks and its close proximity to Abu Dhabi International Airport. Purchasing a unit in this area will bring you a ROI of 7% per year. You can find more information about the top areas of the Emirati capital in this article.

SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center

The mission of SeaWorld is to protect the ocean with the help of world-class facilities. Its team of professionals has already rescued over 40,000 animals and will continue to do this in Abu Dhabi. SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, which will be adjacent to the Marine Life Theme Park, will become the first center of this kind in the UAE, and will research the Arabian Gulf marine ecosystem and conserve the unique marine life. Hundreds of professionals, including zoologists, nutritionists, veterinarians, and other animal experts, who will be responsible for their care, as well as their rescue, rehabilitation and return to the natural environment, will become part of the team.

The center will focus on indigenios species from the Arabian Gulf, including sea turtles and dugongs, and will contribute to the regional and global science community. Educational learning programmes for local and international schools will also be offered in SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center. Conservation initiatives are planned to inspire future generations to follow professions connected with marine issues and life.
